LESSONS AT MIRTNA PARK
Mirtna Park is open for private lessons from Tuesday to Saturday, day or night, as well as multi-day intensive schools several times per year. We have lovely school horses and qualified instruction to cater for adults and children. You are welcome to watch lessons before you decide to book your own.

Initial Assessment Lesson
This lesson not only allows us to assess the rider, their temperament and ability, but it gives you the opportunity to see our philosophy and how we work and then decide whether you wish to continue with us. You will probably find that Mirtna Park has quite a unique, challenging and understandable approach to the skill of riding and horsemanship.

From time to time, Back to Basics clinics will be run on Sundays to help riders with their own horses improve their enjoyment of riding and gain more confidence in working with and training their horses. These clinics will only have limited numbers to ensure personalized attention.
Lesson Blocks
After this initial lesson, if you decide to continue, lessons will be booked and paid for in blocks of four or ten lessons. If at any stage you are unable to attend a lesson or lessons, payment for the lesson/s is still required. You will receive a voucher for the missed lesson which must be redeemed within 1 calendar month. Vouchers cannot be used for the student's regular lessons. To make it easier for you to meet this requirement, make-up lessons will be available on one Monday or Tuesday per month if no other suitable time can be arranged.Single lessons are available, but they will only be booked week by week. If that time slot is required for a block booking, the block booking will take preference
Theory evenings will be run one Monday every month or so at 7.00pm. This enables a lot of discussion and explanation to happen over a broad range of subjects and improve understanding of and communication with our horses without actually eating into valuable riding time . (Speaking of eating - supper will also be served) It also allows students to compare experiences which can be a huge aid to learning.
